Shatter App Reviews
Immense and Intense is putting it mildly! Wow... and now for something completely different! Great soundtrack. Goes where no brick breaker has ever gone before.
Great Game
So far this is a really good breakout twist. Retina graphics are very good and smooth and excellent soundtrack!
Installed twice, but never opened on my machine (early Mac Pro, 10.7.5), crashing on launch every time. Wrote seller and supplied crash logs twice, but never received a response.
Everyone knows brick-breaking games. For those who don’t, I’ll recap: Once upon a time there was breakout. Then dozens of games followed that were basically the same game. Some with a few tweaks, some just plain bad. There were so many rip-offs that it pretty much became its own sub-genre. Then came Arkanoid. It was transformative to the brick-breaking sub-genre. It essentially reinvented the sub-genre. What followed was what felt like a million different clones, rip-offs and Arkanoid-inspired titles. There were some bright spots in all of that, but nothing did what Arkanoid did… until Shattered. From the richness of the environment to innovative power-ups and controls, to the surprisingly enjoyable soundtrack, this game is just absolutely fantastic. Got $5? Don’t throw it away on a Skinny Venti Vanilla Latte. Buy this game. You’ll thank me later.
Shatter is a blast! In addition to circle, horizontal and the traditional vertical gaming fields, this block bouncer, has blowing and vacuuming abilities which adds more intrigue. Even the bosses require strategy inside of just ball bouncing and retrieving. Love the color pallette. The soundtrack is a little reminicient of Squaresofts (Square ENIX) Einhander, though if it was an all-out platform like Einhander this game would be unstoppable. The endless mode does that- to the extent of being more “Tetris” and less R-Type. But still amazing- this game must be included in airplane seat monitors everywhere!
For a featured app costing $5, I expected way more out of this. The interface and graphics are straight out of 1997. Its just a pretty standard brick breaker that I feel like Ive seen half a dozen times already. Save your money.
Great game. Decent graphics. Easy to pick up and play. Brick breaker fans will feel like a kid in a candy store. My only gripe is that Sidhe has taken WAY too long to develop for iOS, which would likely make them a TON of money if they charged the same price as for the Mac App Store version. You can do it, Sidhe!! -Rob Schneider from every movie he has ever done.
Game is fun, and definitely breaks away from your typical Breakout style game. Definitely worth the 99 cents. Only issue is the lack of customizable controls. The developers definitely did not play on a laptop. All your game keys are triggered on the right of the keyboard (cmd and shift). Left cmd and left shift do not function. The mouse is how you navigate. To control this game, you have to cross over your arms. (right hand on touch pad, left hand controlling the right keyboard) It looks just as awkward as it is to play. You defintely need an external mouse to properly play the game if on a laptop.
